The wall is actually my best
element. !0 feet high..it is
the first obstacle.

The 15 foot high cargo net is
a blast! The cargo net is
about midway through the
course.

That's me standing in the
ascending/descending monkey
bars are the third element in
the course. Technique can
make or break!!

Womens' Tri Fitness Vegas 2005-World
Challenge.....
The WTF (aka--Wish, Train, Fulfill) is a pretty amazing competition. Women, and
men too, from all walks
of life and all ages (16-70 yrs old!!!) compete in challenges that test so many
facets of strength and endurance in such a short amount of time. Not only is
strength and endurance tested...but nerves as well. It takes nerve to strut across
stage in a bikini being critiqued from head to toe...but honestly, I would say that
the Grace and Physique round is not as nerve wracking for me as awaiting my
turn on the Obstacle Course.  My performance on the OC wasn't as good as I had
hoped for however, I realize that performance doesn't stem from hope
alone....but lots of hard work!!!! I knew going in that I didn't train as hard as I
needed to. I will be putting a tougher game plan into action now for the November
WTF show
(November 11-13 Tampa, Florida..Eastern Challenge--contact me if
you are interested---always looking for more WTF playmates!!!).
 Another
thing...the dry Vegas heat was an animal of a different color to compete in. I
know one thing for sure...I will not go back to do the OC in Vegas without a bag of
cough drops!!!! I don't remember her name, but one of the other lovely
competitors was kind enough to give me a cough drop after I did my first run and
was I ever thankful!!!! For the Obstacle Course I will be chumming closely with my
OC trainer--
Lori Ann Lloyd, in Windermere, Florida (see her link on my linkspage)
and
Al Rosen on his course in Tampa. I am lucky to be close to some great
resources. I was pretty happy with my Fitness Skills round--except box
jumps---another event I didn't train hard enough for. But thanks to my bench
coach---
Suzie Hunt (a former WTF'er herself) I beat a personal bench press
record. It wasn't 50 reps...like it will be next time...but it was more than I had
done....70 lbs...31 reps. Suzie is the head trainer @ Powerhouse Gym in Apopka,
Florida. All the people were great!! Lots of fun was had!! Here are some pics to
prove it----I had a wonderful photo shoot with the wonderful
Coach John
Atherton of Ateam xtreme
(see link on my linkspage). I will post some of those pics
when I have them available.
